Description

After transport, a dietary transition or a change of environment, some horses may have a more fragile digestive balance.
Food clay, presented in the form of a fine powder to mix with the ration, offers natural and gentle support to promote gastrointestinal comfort and maintain regular digestion.
It can be used both for prevention during sensitive periods (putting out to grass, competitions, travel) and as support in the event of temporary digestive imbalance, loss of state or temporary discomfort.
As a one-off treatment or over several weeks, it helps to preserve the overall digestive well-being of the horse.

Directions for use

Edible clay can be used in two ways, depending on habits and ease of administration:

• Mixed with the ration, ideally with a little water to promote good homogenization.
• Diluted in water, then administered using a syringe if necessary.

For optimal effectiveness, be sure to space out the clay intake by at least 2 hours from any other complementary food or medication. Clay can in fact absorb certain substances and limit their assimilation.

Dosage

• Adult horse: 60 g per day (i.e. 2 pods).

• Pony or foal: 30 g per day (i.e. 1 scoop).

A 30 g pod is provided.

Application frequency

As one-off support
Use over a few days can be considered for softer droppings, mild bloating or temporary digestive discomfort. Clay can also be offered after transport, a change in diet or any event likely to disrupt digestive balance.

In anticipation of a risky period
A treatment of 2 to 3 weeks can be implemented before or during a period conducive to digestive imbalances, for example when turning out to grass, competitions or a change of living space.

As regular support
For horses with sensitive digestion, a preventive treatment of 7 days each month can be beneficial, especially for older horses or horses prone to stress.

Additional information: In case of very liquid droppings, the daily dose can be temporarily increased, in agreement with your veterinarian. The treatment can be interrupted as soon as a normal consistency returns.

Complementary care routine
For complete support of digestive comfort, theDigestive comfort oil can be used as a gentle massage on the abdomen, for targeted external support. TheComplementary digestive comfort food can be offered in parallel, in order to prolong or reinforce the effects of the clay according to the needs of the horse.

Detailed composition

Illite clay
Naturally rich in minerals, illite stands out for its absorbent power. It helps capture certain unwanted substances present in the digestive tract, thus helping to preserve a balanced intestinal environment.

Kaolinite clay
Soft and well tolerated, kaolinite forms a light protective film on the digestive mucosa. This surface action helps limit irritation and promotes digestive comfort, particularly during periods of sensitivity.

Montmorillonite clay
Recognized for its strong fixing capacity, montmorillonite contributes to the elimination of impurities and supports the regularity of transit. It also helps to maintain a good consistency of the droppings.

INCI : Illite, Kaolin, Montmorillonite.
